The guards of my condo don't know. Neither do the local staff at my workplace.
It's green and about the size of a medium to small apple. It's not quite round but nor is it mango shaped....When ripe it's a moroon /crimson colour. It has a 'single crease' in the skin, (a little like a tomato) and at first glance looks like a mango....The tree it grows on is large with smallish white flowers. I'm told that the fruit is inedible and when the skin is removed the hard white flesh appears almost like a ball of string.
What fruit IS that?
WE found it growing at the side of Lor Mambong past all the restaurants in Holland Village just before it meets Holland Rd. I've seen this tree before in flower. It's quite common.
