Childcare Options in Singapore

Post by bucalee » Mon, 15 Jun 2009 1:58 pm

We're looking to move to Singapore in the coming months and want some information on childcare options for 16 month old. I'm hoping to work two or three days a week so it would be part time arrangement. Particularly intersted in the costs for play based day care and any good experiences. What is involved and how hard is it to get in? Coming from an Australian, family day care environment.

You might be putting the cart before the horse. Finding a part-time job in this current economic environment, while on a dependents pass, is going to be difficult to say the least. (I am assuming you will be on a dependent's pass - you are not allowed to work at all on a LTSVP. And, the salaries will be local in nature which means it will cost you more to put the child in daycare than you will earn. Instead, maybe it would be a good time to bond with your child in the years the the child will need it most while you can. (not saying you don't already do this).
