Terrible landlord.... I need help!!

Post by my2009 » Mon, 15 Jun 2009 1:15 pm

i hope you guys can help me or give me any possible ways that work.
Let me tell you guys about my story.

I have rented a HDB unit in Bt. Batok a year ago. After i have stay there for 2 months, the landlord use whatever excuse to vacate me from the house and forfeited my deposit of S$3700 which i have done nothing wrong or violate the tenancy agreement. I found that it is unreasonable and bring this matter to SCT subordinate court.
Of course she was wrong, and the court has issue an order for her to pay me in 3 instalments. First, second and third month S$1000 and last month S$700.
This lady landlord had beg me for several times to expand the instalment period by just paying S$250 per month. I know she has her own difficulties with 2 children and a bankruptcy husband, i help her.
This is where nightmare started when being too kind. After she has pay me S$1700, she refuse to pay me anymore and scolded me when i called her to pay me. What the hack? She owe me money, i helped her, and she scolded me when she did wrong.
I know i can enforce the court order by selling all her movable asset, but i think her old, useless furniture not worth that much.
I do not know what i can do, and this explain why i am here.

Can anyone please give me some ways to get back my money which i shall reward you.
Any of you guys know any lawyer can handle this kind of case?

Frankly, you had your chance and then gave it away. You can go through the whole process again, or you can hire a lawyer and probably not get any more or you will again back out every time she cries poor-mouth. As you seem to be a good person, why don't you just bite the bullet seeing you obviously don't have the stomach to follow through with the legal options once you have won your case. You will only end up spending more money if she doesn't have anything to go after or you don't have the stomach to do it. Don't forget, she screwed you the first time getting you out of the property. Screwed you the 2nd time in talking you into taking less back after you won in court. What good is a lawyer going to do?

My POV only.
