OK, didn't get the chance to look for REALLY old piccies when I visited my father but found this one in one of my albums from about 1980.

It's a tad obscure and probably *could* be anywhere in the world. I'm sure the first one or two guesses will be right, but anyway, where do you think this group of youngsters are having fun?

East coast exact position not sure! Maybe SMS can help, by looking at the Palm trees, which direction they are being pulled towards, my guess is that they like strong sunlight, so catch it from first sunrise and the bottom of the trunks thickness and leaning tells a story. exact point no idea.

OK, today, it's a huuugely commercialised resort! Not sure if there are sandy beaches and see saws anymore.

That's why I didn't want to give a clue!

I've just looked up the history of Sentosa on Wikipedia - it apparently first became Sentosa in 1972 and the cable car opened in 1974. I think that in the late 70s, early 80s was when it started taking off as a resort.

Apparently the monorail opened in 1982 which is when I think the photo must have been taken since from that same outing tere is a pic of us on it!

That was Sentosa before the musical fountain (late 80s??) and before the huuuge merlion! Families used to go over there on the cable car or on a little boat for picnics on the beach etc.

I've actually only been there twice in my life - that time and then about 5 years ago. Not really my cup of tea - never liked the beach and hate theme parks and resorts!

Anyway, must be your turn Saint!
