Mayali,

How did you get the interview call? By mail or by phone?

Hi, I applied for Singapore PR in May 2009, got a letter from ICA to publish CV's of my family members in july 16th which i submitted immediately by 18th July... i not recieved any further information from ICA as yet. whenever i call ICA, i was told that my application is under process. It's about 8 months now, yesterday when i call ICA, i was told that my application is in final stage and i should be getting answer in another 2-3 weeks... Just wanted to know... do i have a chance of getting it approved as it's already a long time now... or have you seen rejections comming after such a long waiting period in any case before... ?

Another thing.. I have not got any interview call as yet..

Please advice.

Regards
Rkwin

I really does vary . . . ours was completed within a few weeks from start to finish, friend's of ours took two months.

Good thing, bad thing . . . who knows.

Just ride it out as worrying will not change the outcome.

Hi, I applied for PR in May 2009, got a letter from ICA to provide CV's of my family, parents and siblings in July which i provided immediately. Till now i have not got any reply from ICA on the PR application outcome. It is more than 8 months now.. should i go personally to the ICA buliding to check.... what should i do?

I was told that my application is in final stages of processing about 15 days back now when i called again today, they said the same thing. Does anyone know how long is this final stage... ?

Please advice

And what makes you think you would get a different answer if you went down in person instead of calling them? ](*,)

There's nothing you can do except wait. It sucks, but them's the breaks.

I just received a letter like Rkwin mentioned which is asking for the CVs of my family. I find it a little strange as on the PR application I only need to give names, birthdates and occupations.

My parents and siblings are back in Aus and have never visited Singapore, so I am curious why there is a needs for a detailed work history of each of them.

I know if you are immigrating to Aus a list of family members is useful as they can help be used to get you into the country in the future. Singapore is more focused on the skills of the individual rather than family ties though.

Any great guesses out there?

Obviously I will be filling it in and sending it back, but I do know some family members are going to feel I am invading their privacy by asking for this info for a third party!

Thanks! :)

This is a nanny state. I believe your hope will be in vain and could be better utilized elsewhere. Like hoping to win the CNY Toto draw. 'bout as much chance of that happening. Actually you have a better chance with the Toto! :)

I suppose you might as well throw in freedom of political expression in there too.

They actually want to know just how many members of your family you could possible try and bring in to Singapore under various visas. Blunt as it seems but that's the true reason
