Rollerblading in West Coast Park?

Post by alixiw » Mon, 01 Jun 2009 10:43 am

Hi Everyone!

Our EPasses were just approved (Yea!!), so we are going to relocate to SG.

When we come down, we love going to the East Coast Park to rollerblade..and although I've heard (and seen while in a car while passing by) that the West Coast Park is not the same...but do people still rollerblade or bike through it?

We'll be working on the West Coast (and without a car), so it won't be so practical to live on the East Coast, so I'm just wondering is the West Coast park is used in somewhat the same ways?

Thanks for the advice!

I live west coast and rollerblade (inferquently :) ) in west coast park, it's not as busy, but there are some nice routes and certainly enough space, it depends on your skill level - a lot of other visitors are not expecting it so you have to practice defensive rollerblading - expect the unexpected. I suspect the same is true on the east coast as well.

The west coast park is perfect for rollerblading. I'd find it pretty boring for cycling though as it is much smaller than ECP. There are far fewer people in the west coast park.

Can rent rollerblades at West Coast Park?

Post by xlavagirl » Fri, 04 Apr 2014 10:44 pm

Hi!

I would like to rollerblade at West Coast Park because it is much closer than East Coast, but I don't own rollerblades.

Do they rent rollerblades at West Coast Park?

Thank you!! [/b]

Have seen rentals for carts and bicycles deep inside (halfway to the dog run area), but don't remember seeing any rollerblades there.

However, there are people that provide group lessons and skates on weekends, parking their vans on the access road just beside the McD parking lot. You might want to see what they can do for the more advanced skater.
