Advice/POV/Help Needed!!

Post by MrJapanEnthusiast » Sat, 30 May 2009 4:26 am

Hey guys,

I am aiming to join Japan airline as a cabin crew, but sadly there are no openings at the moment, and there's no saying when they will start recruiting again. So I was thinking to try to join other airlines first (Qatar/Etihad) and switch over when the opportunity comes, but I'm not sure about the contract/bond details that I will need to agree to if they (hopefully) choose to hire me. Can anyone advise me on my situation and perhaps some real details of the type/duration/cost of breaking the bonds/contracts of the different airlines?

Btw, I am suffering from rheumatoid arthritis but it is still manageable (not severe), would I surely fail the medical test 100%? presuming that I'm fit in the other areas. And if I was to (miraculously) go under the radar and pass, would I want to inform them about my situation after I officially become a part of their crew member? (considering that if I was to not inform them, I would have to endure the pain during active days and continue to report for duty..)

->Also, If Jal was to have an open day in singapore or uk for example, does that imply that successful candidates are going to be SIN based/ UK based? If so, how must I apply if I want to be based at tokyo?

Please share any info regarding Jal or anything~~! :)

Many thanks in advance~!! :D

Hello MrJapanEnthusiast,
Japan Airlines will not be recruiting so soon since times are really bad.
Anyway,if you are a guy in Singapore, there won't be any openings for
stewards here.Jal only hires Hk,Japan and Europe based stewards.Foreign
based crews are not based in Japan. They get to fly to Japan often though.
Try other airlines if you are interested in being a steward.Hope this answers your doubts. :)
