Hi, can any one advice me a good place to buy bicycle near east, would like to go cycling with my kids in east coast park. thanks

There are some shops in the east coast - near the park, where they have also shops for rollerblades etc......
check there!

Theres a bike shop at big splash they sell and rent decent bikes, treks, gary fisher etc.

Could I ask how much a respectable bike has to cost? I went to a store on upper Thomson Road last Sunday, and - believe it or not - every bike in there was more than $2,000!!!! I am not willing to spend that kind of money for a part time hobby. Can I get a nice bike that could be used on the road and the occasional off-road excursion, nothing to violent or rocky - for less than $1,000?

You pay for what you get, there are plenty of cheaper bikes. Having nearly killed myself on the road when cheap crappy made in Uganda gears fractured and fell apart, just as I was trying to out accelerate a bus, best not to skimp.

Why not rent the bikes? If you really like it then buy a decent second hand one.

You can still get a nice one for less than 1k,
