Dimple surgery may not be permanent. Mine is still faintly visible after 2 years, cld be because i did it on top of my existing even fainter dimples. I know of another forumer whose dimples disappeared in 2 mths.

Might not be worth the effort and money. Because initially after the surgery, the dimples are very visible even when u dun smile. Mine took a month to fade to a natural state.
Next: Forehead augmentation, botox, RF

Hi aadvark,

Can you share which doctor / hospital you go to ?

You are right that is is not worth the money is the dimples just dissappear after 2 months :(( it is too expensive if only last for 2 mths

The swelling was for a few days, there wasnt any bruising just tiny little marks that looked like freckles but they dissapeared after about a week or two.

I wanted mine fairly prominent so i asked him this and he made two knots instead of just the one on each side so they were more noticable :)
Hi Shelley,

How is your dimples now ? Is it still visible or disappear after the surgery ?
Can you show me the photos before and after the surgery ?
:-)
hello, yeah course i can send me your email address and i will send you some pics.

I love my dimples there perfect! quite prominent and deep set which is exactly what i asked the surgeon for.

Ive had them for 3 months now and there still very much there. The surgeon done mine by tying a knot in the muscle so i guess maybe its possible for this knot to fall out? im not sure or maybe this is something that can happen if you create dimples using another method.

I didnt go to Dr Nara in the end mearly because i didnt get any reply from him and didnt want to go all the way there and be let down, yanhee hospital was amazing in terms of communication, assistance etc and they were in touch with me very often, they even arrange for a free pick up for me at the airport upon arriving in thailand to takeme to my hotel. My experience with them was excellent so i do definately reccomend them, also when i had to go back to get repeat prescription i was seen very quickly and they were great.

I did notice bangkok laser done them at an awsome price but this wasnt an option for me because at that time the red shirts were around that area. Also like i said yanhee was amazing with contact etc so i felt most comfortable with them and decided it was worth the extra money.

I will update on the dimples from time to time to let you all know if they remain permanent x

oh and i will also tell you all about my post recovery which i forgot to mension......

On the day of the surgery i was given a local anaesthetic and wheeled into theatre. I was awake for the proceedure but didn't feel any pain. Afterwards they let me sleep of the anaesthetic for a while (not sure exactly how long as i didnt check the time when i got up)

Upon waking up my cheeks were very swollen, i was given ice packs and prescribed anti-biotics and anti-imflamatory pills and adviced to also regularly use the ice packs to help reduce swelling. I had no visable scaring however i did have a large dot on each side of my cheeks and alittle blood kind of like a pin hole but a bit bigger and very prominent permanent dimples! Its alittle strange to see yourself like this at first.

Over the next few days the swelling went down and there was slight bruising, the dimples took over a couple of different shapes over my recovery period and didnt properly indicate my final results so just so you know the imediate effects may change.

After around week 3 my dimples began to fade and only came out when i smiled however i did have a little indent on each sides still there when not smiling, i would say week 5-6 is when they finally set and are now only there when i smile.

I hope i have covered everything here and not missed anything out.

OMG, having dimple is my dream. Even though Bangkok is cheap, but is it safe? I don't want to risk my face just because of few hundreds different. Does anyone know if Singapore has any doctor who does this operation?

TIA :)

The Surgeons in Thailand are great, if not better. It is cheap only because of culture, demand and acceptability (ladyboys, government's push for medical tourism industry etc). BOARD CERTIFICATION is a good benchmark to determined safety and choice of your surgeon. Dr. Chirayut and Dr. Nara in Hat Yai are board certified.

From reading the recent news in the papers, it is evident that Singapore surgeons are famous for over-charging. We are fortunate that we are able to have the option to go to Thailand for medical procedures. I am not sure how much real experience the Singapore surgeons have with aesthetics work, eg, rhino, lip reduction, chin implants etc. for example, the surgeons in Hatyai and BKK are doing procedures everyday. I know that in Singapore, there aren't many surgeons getting so much practical experience with patients here.
