serious case of conjunctivitis

Post by jean99 » Wed, 20 May 2009 8:24 pm

my sister has sore eyes for 2 weeks already. the doctor gave her medication (antibiotics eye drops), but it didn't get better. now doc advised she has got a serious case of conjunctivitis resulting in growth of membrane. the membrane caused abrasion and scratched the corneal. she is feeling pain in her eye and has to keep it covered.

doc said that it would take around 3 weeks to heal. meantime, she has to visit the doc every 2 days to remove the membrane. is this normal ? the redness hasn't subsided. should i be concerned ?

use saline and cotton wool to clean it when it is getting bad. antibiotic drops should get it better.

as a supplement, try chrysanthemum tea. no, it is not the package drinks but the chrysanthemum flower itself. do a google on chrysanthemum tea and conjunctivitis.

there isn't much more she can do except visit an ophthalmologist for a second opinion.

she needs to get them removed to aid with the healing.

don't apply anything that may encourage further bacteria growth.
