Like the original poster, I will also only have 2 weeks paid for at a hotel. Is this enough time to find a place and get moved in?

We had five weeks of accommodation provided by the company but had to extend the lease by a week as it took us a while to find the "right" place. This website has excellent information and doing some research prior to your arrival helps. If you get a good agent (yes they exist!), finding a place in two weeks should not be a problem.

Thanks Hir0ki. I think my husband's firm is supposed to be helping us with an agent - but who knows! And we've done a lot of research here -it's been great. So we have a good idea where we want to go and what we want. I'm just nervous about the execution of it all.

Hi,
I relocated here a year ago.
My rental is $1800 per mth, and 1 contracted for 1 year but then my agent said it is a market 'practice' to collect the 1 mth agent fees... well, i paid 1 mth as agent fees indeed.
Now they are trying to make me pay the subsequent extension that i planned to continue with my landlord by collecting 0.5 mth rental $ as their commission.

So be careful with the rental agreement, the agent will be using the template for you and your landlord to sign.
