What is my IP address?

Post by carteki » Sun, 17 May 2009 3:34 pm

Hi,
I need to find out what my IP address is. I have received 3 different addresses using 3 different methods - IPCONFIG on my PC (IPv4 address), Activity info on GMAIL and http://www.iprapid.com/
Thanks
Kim

If you are with one of the three major ISP's here your IP address will keep changing as you have dynamic IP addresses and not static ones. So when your address is traced it will trace back to a cached IP the will change possibly each time you start up your PC.

I know about the dynamic IP's, but the different addresses were all during the same session which was odd.

If you're using SingNet, they route your outgoing requests through a block of proxies, which means that even in a single session your IP changes all the time. This confuses the hell out of some websites, so configure your browser to use proxy.singtel.com.sg:8080 to stop this.

With the exception of Singtel Magix where you get a fixed IP ( and it's cost unfortunately as well)

It's not nearly as useful as the thel link I posted. Your link only shows the connected computer IP address geo information whereas the link I posted allows you to enter any IP address and get geographic information.

And, it is interesting that someone under a bunch of different names is pushing this URL on a bunch of boards.

Now, your IP address resolves to Madras, India (IP=122.174.107.165) while your posted website has an IP of 122.165.35.254, which... surprise, surprise... is also in Madras.

Is this your domain/website? Are you spamming this website under the guise of providing information? I think yes.
