DVD player for .avi data discs?? Philips? Samsung?

Post by bubbybee » Sat, 16 May 2009 11:14 am

Hi all,

I'm planning to burn .avi files onto a data DVD, however I want a player that can play .avi files on my TV.

Is there any brand and model that you would recommend? That is value-for-money based on quality of output etc..

I read online reviews that Philips DVP3140 is good, however I can't find it on the Singapore website. And again, there are reviews that say Philips DVP3140 stutters and the load speed is slow.

Help, anyone?

Thanks loads, appreciate all help. Would you recommend/comment on the current DVD player you have now (if it plays .avi files)?

Why don't you just burn your .avi files to a DVD format so they play on anything? Good free software to do just that.
