Hello
do you guys have a nice address to get a brunch on saturday or sunday?
I'm quite lazy on the week end, so i intend to go take my brunch in short pants and croc, so i need to avoid big fancy hotel with a "smart casual" dress code like Raffles Hotel...
Anyway all advices welcome.

Dont know if there is a dress code, but you can call to check, I am sure!
Try Sunday Champagne Brunch Buffet in 10 at Claymore. They serve Mumm Champagne and Wagyu beef from 12 to 430pm. Cost $88 ++.

Actually, I think they still allow expats to go in, when they are wearing bermudas and slippers...
Just say you stay in the hotel, and give a random hotel room number like 1102 (which you cant really go wrong), and said you are not going to change into jeans when you are just eating downstairs!

interesting but i'll never do that... Planning to go to a restaurant under dess, then argue with the Maitre D', lie, looks like the redneck who can't dress correctly... just to get a brunch?
not my definition of a nice week end

I prefer something more casual but with a nice atmosphere and/or a nice buffet.

The Sentosa Resort & Spa (previously known as Beaufort) is pretty casual. I heard Pump Room at Clarke Quay does brunch but am not sure if they still have their free flow bubbly and beer. You can call and check. Kids are welcomed there as they can splash around the fountain outside.
There's always places like brewerkz and iguana for non-buffet/ free flow options.

The pump Room looksreally nice!
http://www.pumproomasia.com/filemanager ... 2%2009.pdf
I'll try it next sunday
I have doubt about Jones at Dempsey hill. First time i went there, and checking product, i found out a lot of small bugs and ants having a big party in the bread basket for the shoppers... Unfortunately my wife saw it, so there's no way we'll eat ever there. Too bad the cheese room looks nice! (but prices are scandalous)

Try "House" at Dempsey - fits all your requirements. PS Cafe is also good, but usually a bit overcrowded. Culina is a nice casual spot, but does not have what I consider to be traditional brunch fare i.e., eggs benedict, bacon, etc.
Outside Dempsey, I haven't found the real deal brunch. I would rather be shot than do the big fancy hotel champagne brunch.
I also like Michelangelo and Da Paolo on Jalan Merah Sagah, Holland Village - but again, not true brunch, just a casual seen to spend time on a Sat/Sun with nice atmosphere.
Steve
thanks!

EM2 is pretty good and cheap. Its at Robertson Quay (Next to Boomerang). I think they served whole brunch and their eggs benedict is quite reasonably priced as well. You can definitely show up in bermudas and flip flops.

I think this weekend the malls and restaurants will be crowded...but I think there's a limit to capacity in malls?

Personally I will be avoiding the malls. I already have my table reserved for Friday evening though.
