Need Suggestion on Masters (Information Systems) from NTU

Post by gauravgupta2808 » Thu, 14 May 2009 10:23 pm

Hey,

I have done my undergraduate in Computer Science & Engineering (hold Bachelors degree) from a private college in India. (University ranks very low in world)....

I have been working for 4 years with a top IT Consulting firm, in Mainframe Technologies in Banking (Collections and Recovery) domain.

Just to get a world class degree I applied for Masters in Information Systems in NTU, Singapore and have been offered admission.

Could you please suggest me if this course add value to my skills .. as i want to be a Consultant / Business Analyst. (Definitely i would be getting a good degree). This course is a mix of IT and Business from School of Computers and WKWSCT...

What are the chances of me getting a job in Singapore after completing the course (I would get PR, i suppose)

Thank you.

If you're intending to work in Singapore, a MSc from NTU is great. However, a lot of times, getting a good employment here also depends on your good luck and good connections.

So while you're in school in NTU, network as much as possible, present papers in conferences if you can, and even do project work if you could cope, and get to know the work/life culture here. Most importantly, come with an open mind. When you do all these, you get a good headstart of corporate Singapore.
