Thanks everyone for providing the info. The dryer cum steriliser should be quite convenient to use. It is also very popular in southern parts of China. Just throw everything inside, and then turn it on for few minutes. the utensils will be dry and clean. Then leave them inside until next time use.

I have some Korean friends. I should try to ask them. By the way, gnat, where could I find the brand in Johor Bahru? In any particular departmental store or shopping centre? What is the price range? And does it use UV, ozones or steams to sterilise?

My one is ard RM1600, is using UV, ozones and negative ion to sterilize. I got it from a shop selling those sanitary product, tiles and kitchen appliances, named Mastile Interconcept, add. 3F, Batu 7, Jalan Kota Tinggi, Pandan, Johor Baru. Tel no. 00607 3549577

Plastic cutting boards are actually wonderful bacteria breeding grounds. If you cut plastic, the little crack stays open forever, and bacteria throw a party inside. If you cut wood, on the other hand, it will naturally swell up and seal the gap.
You are absolutely right!
There was a study in Germany, made on request of some who wanted to outlaw wooden chopping boards in butcher shops. The result: The white plastic boards are less hygienic than wood!
As far as I know, plastic chopping boards were nevertheless not outlawed after this ...
