IPA Revoke

Post by lotusfaith » Mon, 11 May 2009 12:12 pm

I have apply a PRC worker on MOM website.
And the IPA was approve on the actual day after i submit the apply.
Arrange the worker to fly over to Singapore after the security Bond had approval.
Was given 14days stay in Singapore.
3 days later found out the IPA was Revoke reason given due of the worker past record which was nearly 3 years ago.
I want to ask the following questions:

1. why the MOM still approve the IPA when they say that the worker had past record?

2.Now with all my business are in order and this worker is able to settle my order issue.what should i do to get this worker back?

Can anyone assist me with the above issue as i need the worker back asap.

Thanks

maybe your employee flouted immigration regulations, not employment ones, and the system wasn't linked... ?

(MOM didn't know until his passport was flagged by customs?)

or maybe you were just unlucky. in-principle's just what it is...

The worker was given an IPA. That stands for "In-Principle Approval". It is not a guarantee that the potential employee will be given a work permit. The work permit is subject to a number of things including the results of the medical, workers record & Immigration issues. If the worker was here before, his record would be recalled and any issues would be noted - if it wasn't disclosed on the workers application for the permit, it would be found upon arrival when passport numbers and other data are checked in MOM's database.

Reapplying, unless something has changed recently, will be basically an exercise in futility. This especially so with the current economic crisis making it even harder for foreigners to come here without any priors.

This IPA issue had been one month plus after i send an appeal to MOM.
Had follow with MOM customer service said that need more time for the related office for the reply of my appeal.....sad la.
As i need this worker back asap for my production.
Base on what the customer services officer said to me that MOM anyhow will give ppl a chance to turn a new life. But base on what i know from this worker and the info given the case had already pass two years plus.
And seriously that this worker is needed for my production.
Any other way that i can solve ths issue?

Many Thanks
