Real bilingual School English - German ?

Post by sabry67 » Wed, 06 May 2009 4:01 pm

Hi everybody,
I have a question about school (1st grade). We should move soon and I have to enroll my 6 years old daughter to 1st grade. I looked in Internet and in this site to find out a suitable school, but I couldn't find any real bilingual English - German school. I've seen there is a German school, that has also an European/English section, but it looks like that you have to choose one or the other language, it is not a bilingual.... Does anybody know an alternative ? Our mother tongue is Italian, living in Switzerland my daughter learnt Swiss, but we don't speak Swiss (I speak a bit of German). My daughter knows a bit of English, but for sure not enough to feel confortable in a 1st grade....
Thanks for any advice,
Sabrina

Is GESS the school you mentioned?
http://www.gess.sg/

According to their website,
"GESS provides international education in German and English from Pre-School to Grade 12"

Alternatively, there is the Swiss School Singapore
http://www.swiss-school.edu.sg/site/?m= ... 54342&ty=1

It would be best to write directly to them for further information and discuss your concerns with them.
