i Phone

Post by UK-HK-SIN » Wed, 06 May 2009 8:41 am

I want to get the iphone when I move to SG in 10 days time so i can link it to my mac book and love the map facility so I don't get lost !!

I understand I will have to get a contract with singtel which isn't a problem as I need a contract with someone..... however does anyone have the iphone with them and can tell me how many pages they are able to download and stay withing the package restriction of 3GB.??
I have no idea how much this is in real terms......

3GB is quite a lot.

But if you are concerned about going over the limit, there are a lot of wifi spots around Singapore, in coffee shops and McD and in the offices.

I think I have a 50GB allowance on my phone, but doubt I have ever been over 2GB. Maybe I am not using my phone hard enough

I've been using my iPhone for over a month now. I check my emails all the time + Youtube videos etc and i have only used abt 450MB in 35 days.

3GB is a lot of data and as a web developer i can confirm that you wont be able to access 3GB unless you start downloading videos and Music everyday.

Hope that helps.. though i have 30GB Data plan and i need not worry abt the data limit

Tip(s)

Don't bother with Sing Tel authorised dealers. They have to verify everything with the comms centre. Best is to go to the Singtel comms centre and sort it all out. It's smack in the middle of town

You need to have your employment pass in order to sign up for an account with a service provider.

Sing tel/Singnet are the only ones that have the iPhone ( not sure if this is still the case)
I got an iPhone very cheaply from them when i recently re signed for a new contract. I can only imagine you'll get the same.

Good luck

i really would like to know how you guys can get 50G or 30G data package?
I don't see such packge on the singtel website, and would be very interested by this kind of stuff!
I'm not a big talker, so i don't really need a huge talk package, but i need a big data package.

What singtel is looking at is a fixed address where they can bill you, otherwise, for the plan, i had called them before to request for a more tailored plan, they can do it...
