Make Friends -- Visit Botanic Gardens

Postby mrAlek » Tue, 05 May 2009 10:53 pm

Hello All:

I have not posted in a whlie, but I joined a number of people in a trip to the museum about two months ago. It was a nice time and I'd like to organize another outing. This time to the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Please join me Saturday May 9, 2009 for an afternoon walking amidst the vegetation and enjoying the park. I have never been to the park, but have heard some good things about it.

Lets meet at the visitor’s centre at 3PM, so we can miss some of the day's heat. We can tour the park for a while and then perhaps afterwards grab some dinner nearby.

Bring cameras, sketchbooks, comfortable footware, and some water.

Hope to see you there!

OTHER DETAILS:
Meetup
Park Visitor’s Centre (centre of the park at Cluny Road). See park website and map for location.
http://www.sbg.org.sg/visitorinfo/openinghours.asp

Activity Cost
Park Entrance is Free (option to view National Orchid Garden for $5.00)

And a Bit About Me
I moved here about two months ago – from the US (was most recently living in California). I will be living in Singapore for 2+ years, working at an environmental engineering firm. I am looking to meet some interesting people here to share conversation, ideas, experience, and exploration in Singapore.

Hi Arek,

I am 28 years old Japanese guy, came to Singapore from Tokoy just 3 weeks before and will stay Singapore for more than 3 years to work.
As you say, makinig new friends from different background is nice for me too to enjoy the stay in this international country and make my life more abundant.

I'm afraid my English ability does not reach other participants' level, meanwhile, can add the diversity to you good event at least.
So could you count me in your good event above ?

If you need to cantact to me, please contact to kei.wat@live.com .

Regards,
Kei

Hi Alek,

Hope you find singapore a great place to be in!

if you enjoy these nature walks and park visits so much, do seriously consider the MacRitchie Treetop walk. It can even become challenging enough, if you choose to take the "more difficult" route.

feel free to drop me a note should you require any help.
