SMS and road.not.taken make valid points - the journey is the real issue here even if we can sensibly avoid exposure in NY. But the child's death in TX yesterday was too much. We're cancelling our trip.

Good move, I hear the flue isn't actually normal, but a mixture of swine flue and bird flu which has mutated and passed on to humans, no pigs have been found with this type of flu, only humans apparently.

The media does a great job at scaring people. How many people die yearly from the basic flu that we all get? The news this morning is already saying that this scare is as bad as it was first thought to be.

This a decision only you can make. If you'll fell better postponing your trip, them do so. Nobody here can make that decision for you.
