We would like to get 3 pieces of artwork framed and are looking for a company/business that has experience in framing artwork (i.e. provide design guidance, choice of materials such as acid-free mattes and UV resistant glass), has good prices and are efficient in getting the task done relatively quickly. The artwork consists of smaller pieces (about 500mm x 750mm) so not a big item to frame. Want good value for money (anyone heard of U-Frame-it?)

Hi there,
Good framing in singapore are typically hard to find and the "slightly better ones" tend to over-charge.
For paper-works-- be very careful, due to humidity in singapore, it will mould big time. Un-informed framers will use alcohol based glue to stick paper work which will destroy your paper works..
If your paper-works are valuable, go to a chinese scroll master and ask them to stick a backing for the paperwork. Use for top-quality backing or you can go buy an acid-free backing (art friend art supplies). Good Chinese scroll-master knows the kind of glue to use for sticking paperwork to a backing.
with this done, you can send your works on a framemaker you bet on. If your paperworks needs to be removed in the future for conservation, it will be possible.
For UV-glass.. might be possible.. but for vacuum framing, I have not hear of it in Singapore...ok hope it helps

I've used
Merlin at the top floor of Ngee Ann City with good results. Not cheap though...

I always use Framing Angie at Holland village shopping center, not the cheapest in town, but she knows what she talking about, and can do an instant visual on her giant Mac Monitor, and carries out museum grade work.
She a real character, though be warned she will sweet talk you into buying one of her hard back Angie books, hundreds of photos of her in various stages of undress the dosh goes to charity, I guess some Plastic surgery benevolent fund.
So far very happy with the results, and if you are not, she will redo it till you are.

A question for your insurance company I guess. As a matter of interest, your STVP does have your FIN on it, so perhaps the FIN is still active?
