Motorcycles in Singapore?

Post by Professional Bohemian » Thu, 23 Apr 2009 4:45 am

Can one ride vintage motorcycles in Singapore? Are there any vintage or non-vintage motorcycle enthusiast groups in Singapore? Any weird laws for motorcyclists?

In my opinion those weren't "yes or no" questions. :-k

Thanks Kippis, would there be many hoops to jump through if I wanted to bring my bike/s over from the USA?

It would be a pain in the butt and expensive if you want to bring your vintage bike here. It would also depend on how old is your bike. Contact LTA and see what they say

You cannot import a vehicle of any kind into Singapore if it is over 3 years of age. Here is the defining authority (you will need PDF reader to view):

importing a motorcycle

See, this time you asked a question requiring more than a simple yes or no. This link was taken from the vehicle portal in the first column of my links page. There are lots of good links in there.

There is a special Classic Cars scheme, but the restrictions are pretty tight and I'm not sure bikes are allowed (although there are enough Harleys around that I'd imagine they are...?). Some details:
