Is Speed Dating popular?

Post by lisayeo » Wed, 22 Apr 2009 12:21 am

The problem with singles is that, either they are too shy or too busy in work.

However I would like to take the challenge, to organize a speed dating event. I wonder is Speed Dating still popular? Will there be active participants?

However, do not think "dating" is where we must really find a soul mate. Speed Dating can be simply an activity to break out of normal life routine, relax and get to know some new friends. As simple as that, right?
I think I am quite cheerful and I am a good listener to my friends.

Yes, me and 2 other friends, will be organizing the event, if the response is good.

I also considered organising a speed dating event in Singapore. But lack local knowledge.

I have been to a few of these events which my friend organised back home in UK. They were always good fun and enjoyable. I use to love these events.

I think that speed dating does exist in Singapore - there was a big event held on 29 Feb 08 at the Singapore Flyer, although they've gone very quiet since.

Personally i like the idea, if the women are very wealthy, independent , socialites, with flashy cars, perfumes, and spa's, you know The Sex in the City types....free and easy, not looking for sugar daddy's. I'm so tired of the latter, besides my father said "Son if you are looking for a woman, make sure she is rich" because then she's already over the first hurdle and if she want's you, it must be love, because you will never have any money  I'm really quite charming and the perfect gigolo, retired

Yeah, but at your age, all they would be looking for is either a nurse or a purse! :P

ha! my purse more like it, two rhinestone cowboys, cocked and waiting, mind you the nurse could be a bonus too.

I've been close to needing one more times than one, it's little like Russian roulette sometimes. Need to start training in 2 weeks, now i have had the all clear, it will be tone up time, not done anything for a year now. Could be fun having speed dating for pensioners  My old fellow was the one, with his Clark Gable moustache and his Fred Astaire patent leather dancing shoes, god bless him.

aren't Orchard Towers a speed dating institution? :D

I don't think (wealthy or not) single expat blokes have trouble finding girls in Singapore. Why pay for such an event when you can get them free anywhere? Good luck with you business (was a good idea advertising on here until KSL got hold of your message!!)

Yeah, I remember the good old days back in the early 80's! So many to choose from. So little time between crew changes! :P
