Guidence needed! apartment- convenient and fun location

Post by AliciaCC » Fri, 17 Apr 2009 10:29 am

HI, I will be relocated to Singapore in 1 month, and i am super excited about it!! I am looking into some of the apartment guides, but I am not familiar with the area and have no idea about the districts at all.

I am 22. I would love to live in the city, where the public transportation is available. If there is lots of bars, clubs or shopping centers around that would be great... oh, and safe.
I am not picky at all, just a 1 bedroom is good enough for me, or even studio (if there are any in Singapore) nothing need to be fancy. but i would like to know if there is an area that have more foreigners communities, so that i can get to know people sooner.

could you guys please give me some suggestion so at least i know which area i should be looking for?

THANKS!!~~

hi aliciacc,

you really sound super duper excited about your trip you forgot to tell us where you will be working and how much is your budget for your housing :) much as we can recommend to you the most happening places, the reality is most of us cannot practically live there. ditto with the apartment type. you might not be picky, but the apartments might be based on your purchasing power.

now, i am pleased that you are doing your research... just that you have missed that the "city" is safe (though they'd say low crime is still not equal to no crime), and that the city is almost the country. i reckon by "city" you probably mean the central business district, which is really just within the 5km radius of orchard road.

ok, having said all these, i would recommend holland village for you because... well, that's what your research is for :)

Hello!

In Singapore, everywhere is convenient. The public transport is available in everywhere. So why worry? But there is the difference in the price for the apartments you will be renting...Depends on areas...So we will need to know your budget before we can recommend.
