Share cost of freight from Singapore to Sweden anyone?

Post by josh5796 » Mon, 06 Apr 2009 12:55 pm

Hi, I have a couple of pieces of furniture and house items, I'd like to move to stockholm, Sweden from Singapore, and was wondering if there's anyone out there who going to be moving too that I can share the freight costs with.

Let me know and we can work the costs out! Thank you.

Think twice about whether you really need them and whether they will withstand Singapore's climate. It's usually much cheaper to buy everything here -- we've even got two IKEAs :P

:oops!:

...although (most of) the advice works both ways: wooden furniture built for tropics will crack if you bring it to a dry, cold climate.

You can send your stuff in a shared container with pickfords, it may take a little while, I had 150 cubic cost me 1k to move it here from UK, but they said its no problem to ship back part loads, have you enquired about the price, there is a minimum which is about 2500$ but they do all packing and unloading. It's actually labour charge and transportation which is expensive in Europe. Shipping is only about 1200$, so if you can get it just to the docks in Sweden and pick it up yourself, you may save, it will take up to 8 weeks to arrive.
