Sure this has already been asked (helper related)

Hello

I tried to look in the archives but my searches were fruitless!! I would like to send my helper to her home country for a couple of weeks. She tells me not to go through agency to arrange it all as they will charge me quite a lot for it. Can I please check with you what to do? Contact her embassy then get her flight. Is it enough? Do I need to inform Manpower that she will be out of the country?

Many Thanks

This was a surprise the FDW are quite literally trapped here, unless they have MOM permission they cannot leave. (Which has its pros and cons). It does mean the FDW has a bit of an "incentive" to complete the work contract with out doing a runner.

Be a national outcry if, as an "educated" expat, you get stopped at the airport unless your firm has applied for permits to leave the country.

We asked the agency to sort out all the paper work for our helper to return home for holidays.
