Places To Hang Out

Post by lovergirl_lublub » Tue, 05 Oct 2004 10:38 pm

Hi! I'm new in this forum, but I would like to seek help.

I would like to plan a relaxed late evening for me and my partner. Is there any good places to recommend where the view is good? Need not have to be a diner, just a place, like a park or something.

And, any reasonable places to dine at? This whole thing would be happening after 11pm, plez recommend.

Thank You!

East Coast Park is the traditional location for Singaporeans to steam up their windows and rock their Corollas.... although this too is, of course, illegal. Mt. Faber might also be nice.

You'll have more problems finding a good place to eat after 10 PM though, there was an entire thread about this that pretty much drew a blank.

Geylang rules the nite in Singapore :!:
Try it sometime. Sure to be an experience all in a class of its own in Singapore :!:

Thanks for the tips.

jpatokal: I tried ECP before, but it was so crowded. Didn't have any ambience at all. Mount Faber used to be a great hunt for me, but ever since they build the bar up there, I haven't been much liao. The whole view is being taken up by them. :(

Geylang Rules: It sure is a great experience. Drove thru the lanes there, and Woah! I'd really like going there again. But eating there, car park is a prob.

Sentosa? It's open 24 hours and if you have your own car there are some very quiet corners indeed. S$2 charge to get in though.

Since you mention Sentosa, may I ask, do you know the function hours of the bar at the beaches. Are there any of them open after midnight?

-Cosy Bay Rest/Dine in

Its at Tanjng Rhu, near kallang. Its a nice open field by the river and on days when the sky is less cloudy, u can catch the sunset :) Pretty awesome!

There's a bridge there n it looks nice at night when everything's lighted. Some go there to dine (soem restaurants there) or have a picnic and do outdoor games in the earlier prt of the day.

-Or u can try Clarke Quay at night.

-Labrador Park (known as a gd spot for star gazing)

-Lastly, pretty common but still nice: Esplanade. However its getting pretty crowded with couples lately :P
