Can anyone recommend a couple of good restaurants in the Orchard area that serve local and Western food?

Iggys is good in the Regent Hotel. Apart from that European food is decidedly average here. Depend what you want if its just a pizza joint, the one at the botanical gardens main entrance is surprisingly good, though not really on orchard.
Again for snacks the joint in the middle of Tanglin Mall is pretty good makes very good coffee.
There was a whole tread a while back on good restaurants do a search and it should come up.
