Optoma EP716 projector -- where to have it serviced?

Post by unai » Mon, 30 Mar 2009 11:19 pm

Dear All,

I have an Optoma EP716 projector:
http://www.projectorcentral.com/Optoma-EP716.htm

...it currently displays several white flashing vertical lines. From my initial investigation through Google it seems that it needs to be repaired/serviced/fixed.

I found this shop online linked from the original Optoma.com site:
http://www.arvisual.com.sg/index.html

...where it seems that I can have it serviced.

Do you guys know any place where I could have my projector serviced? Anyone did this before?

Thank you so much!

With Best Wishes,
unai

did you really register in an expat forum today to ask that question? and since you found ar visual that does service optoma projector, why dont you give them a ring? projector is not a common item that any tom, dick and harry will come across, unless you are stealth advertising for ar visual?

Dear Durain,

Thank you so much for your reply.

Well, I believe whenever a person registers into a forum is most likely to ask a question since I believe it is not possible to post questions without account. So, yes, I registered to ask that question.

Regarding ar visual, I am not related to them at all and I am not advertising them.

The reason why I mentioned them is just because I try to follow this document whenever I post on forums:

http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

so I just did not want to sound like I have not done my research. I did and I found several places that I am calling right now.

The purpose of my post is just sharing with other users that possible went through the same exact pathway I am going right now to tell me where they have their projector serviced and what their opinion is, that is all.

I want to present my apologies if I break any rule by mentioning something that I should have not.

no la, not picking on you but for a first post newbie asking a not very common item does throw some suspicious around it. :)

now, as far as servicing a projector, personally i never heard of it and i am sure the AV guys at my office doesnt service any of the projector either. the only changable bits they do is if the lamp/bulb goes or if the air vent is getting a bit cloaked up with dust, then just use compressed air to blow it out. as i said, i am not a projector guru, so maybe let the expert advise you.
