study or work? Need advice

Post by charcoal123 » Thu, 26 Mar 2009 11:31 pm

hi, I am currently 26 years old. I came to Singapore 15 years ago but didn't go through a standard education system here. When I was 23, I decided to pursue my study in a local polytechnic. I have just graduated my course with merit. Now,I am facing a big transition in life..since i did so well in my diploma, i would love to continue my degree in a local university. Problem is none in my family support the idea of continue my study due to financial problems in my family(but i am able to pay the school fees on my own). Another problem is I am already 26 years old. People, what do you think I should do? Kindly advice...

can you get a job if you dont continue with your studies? and if you continue with your studies, is it something that is in demand?

There is the option of working and studying part-time at the same time. All depending on what course you are doing.

If completing your degree is something you really want to do, do it as soon as you can. Before other things in life happen like having kids.

I've been in your shoes more or less.

Get the schooling while you can, sure don't want to be in school later in life when the economy is good again, do it now while jobs are hard to get.
