Language Tour to China

Post by carolynW » Thu, 26 Mar 2009 9:28 pm

I found one "Shanghai/Hangzhou Learning Adventure" organised by Julia Gabriel and wanted to know if anyone else had come across other ones similar to this?

Its for K1 and K2 up to P1 to P6, they arrange for the kids to join local chinese kids in Hangzhou at their school, while parents sightsee and then join up for joint stuff like Children's Palace or cultural immersion stuff for them. Its a week during school holidays.

I've seen a tour group fm the US arrange for families of adoptive parents in the US to go to China for a cultural immersion but wondering if there are others out there that people have done, heard of or would recommend?

agree. but thanks to the government's effort to make Manderin as the offical language in places such as schools (including Children's Palace), TV station, Government offices..tier 1 cities such as SH, HZ, BJ are still foreigner-with-basic-Chinese-speaking-ability friendly enviroment. What's more interesting about the trip is to observe the local culture, how kids study at schools, what hobbies they cultivate in part-time..etc. As private tutor has not yet become prevalent in China, most people are sending off their kids to activity centers for learning to play music instruments, painting, singing..Children's Palace would be a fun place to visit!
