TRAVELLING TO KYOTO AND OSAKA

Post by RedSox » Wed, 25 Mar 2009 11:55 am

Hi, I'm going to Kyoto ans Osaka for 5 days. I've been doing research on sights to visit and things to do.

I would appreciate any feedback from people who have advice and suggestions based on their own experiences. Many thanks!

if you are based in Osaka... you might want to consider Himeji.. the castle is beautiful, can do a half day there, and spend the other half day in Kobe.

try getting the Kansai pass so that you can save on the train fares as they have 1, 3, 4, 7 days I think.

Kyoto is more interesting and need at least 2 days to cover (just get the bus pass, as it is more convenient since buses stop at the attraction vs. subway where you will still need to change to bus).

Osaka... huh... the castle is cement rebuilt... so so, very modern... i still prefer Kyoto.

Also, if you have time, pop by Nara :)

enjoy.
