Good Pediatrician to recommend?

Post by margepl » Wed, 25 Mar 2009 9:04 am

Hi, we're new to Singapore with 3 kids. Would appreciate if anyone could recommend a good pediatrician to go to here that you have personally dealt with. Thanks.

Dr Mark Loh in the International Medical Clinic in Camden Medical Center. If you do a search on this forum for pediatrician you'll come up with a couple of threads with others mentioned.

I agree with the post about Dr Mark Loh. Hands down he is the best paedeatrician I have ever met. That said I have stopped using him (well IMM in general) for routine visits like vaccinations etc as they are so much more expensive. I was paying $300-$400 per visit for vaccinations for my baby and when I checked at my local clinic the cost for her next jabs came to $92 as opposed to IMM's $370 for the SAME vaccinations.
We get all our medical bills paid so its not about money per se, but I think its a ridiculous mark up to charge so much more.
However if my baby was sick I would not hesitate to take her to Dr Mark Loh.

Hi we just arrived 2 weeks ago, and we are also looking for a good paediatrician for our baby.... Dr Mark Loh was also recommended but was warned that he is expensive, has anyone been to the paediatrician in Tanglin Mall - Dr Lynn Low Global Medical Centre?? Or Dr Siva in Paragon??

I have several friends who take their kids to Dr. Belinda and when she is fully booked they go to Dr Loh. When we first moved here she was recommended to us but found her too busy and Dr Mark had just joined IMC and easy to get an appt. In re: to cost I think Dr Loh is about $70 - 90 per consult (or it may be $60 and for the general physician it's 90? you can give them a call to confirm). If you have insurance the checkups should be covered. In re: to the vaccines - Thacian made an excellent point. They are SUPER expensive and our insurance doesn't cover them for the kids. I never even thought about going to another clinic - but that is a great idea.
