Hi- anyone interested in going to China? Am planning to go to Guilin/Yangshou via Shanghai on April 10 for 4-5 days. I'm late 30s, single female, well traveled, Chinese American. Let me know if you are interested. PM or email: [email protected]

I'm not interested to going to Yangshou/Guilin, as I have been there 2 years back. However, I can offer a few pointers, if you want.

I stayed in YS, which is a very small town, with one long stretch of road. There are a lot of caucasians there, mostly backpackers and fresh graduates. I am not sure where and how did they know about YS.

Its kinda weird... but it appears that YS is the only place in China that can serve a proper american breakfast and western stuff. There are a lot of international cafe/restaurants there, and I have to admit, the quality is extremely high (compared to other parts of China, for the price you are paying). Of course if you are willing to pay US$30 for breakfast, I am sure you can get top quality in BJ or SH, but in YS, maybe US$5 - 7 will get you extremely high quality food.

You have to do the river cruise to check out the lime stone... take the 3 days one if you have time. I only did the day trip and the limestone is extremely gorgeous. You should try to bring a good camera to capture it, if possible.

If you need more information/advice, do PM me, or send a shout.
