Activities for 3.5 yr old on Friday (eastern side)?

Post by fristromcan » Sat, 14 Mar 2009 6:25 pm

Hi,

I am looking for some activities (e.g. sports, arts, music, playgroup, drama etc., parent accompanied preferred) for my 3.5 yrs old on Friday mornings. I checked a few places but the activities are usually over the weekend. Would appreciate if someone can give me some pointers. Thanks in advance.

SMS - as a moderator that is really not necessary. Has it been so long since you've had little ones that you forget there are big milestones between 3 & 4? Saying your child is 3.5 is very normal - just like people calling out their children's ages in months.

fristromcan - I don't live in the east so I can't help you on activities - but isn't there a My Gym out there? Hopefully someone else can help you out.

Wanna compare notes on maids?

And yes it's been a long time. Mine are 19 & 25. But when they were 10 months old they both had started talking in lsimple sentences. Most of their peers of the same age group weren't talking at all until they were almost 2 years of age (Montessori had not yet arrived here). Not all 3.5 year olds are created equal. Just as not all maid employers are created equal.

Well, he is not exactly 3.5 but that is the closest approximation.

yes, there is a lot of difference between 3 and 4. He has outgrown some activities (in fact, we have been going a playgroup on Friday that take kids until 3.5). Some other activities that I have looked at only take kids when they turn 4.

Hi cbavasi, we tried my gym already. Thanks.

Off topic much?

It's obviously been a long time since you've been attending toddler activities - so adding a smart comment like your first one is not very helpful for someone who is genuinely looking for advice. :?

Hi fristromcan,

I have a daughter of the same age and I've put her on taekwondo classes twice a week. The JH Kim Taekwondo Institute of Singapore is great! And there is a school on the east coast: Katong School (6348-1390). Classes are not expensive at all and my child gets full attention from the teachers because the child/teacher ratio is low. Her class has about 6 students and there are at least 3 teachers in class everytime. Plus, all teachers are very patient and kind with the children. I believe the activities are teaching her to be more disciplined and to have respect for others. Plus, she gets to fine-tune gross and fine motor skills.
I hope this helps!
Take care,
pbez

hi pbez,

didn't realize you can start taekwondo at 3: I will check it out. With school, he is currently at full-day childcare for 4 days. Thanks for your tips anyway.
