For marketing and advertising purposes, you need the .sg for search engines to register your site in Singapore, which makes it easier to be noticed by Singapore search engines... if You have .com, they the Singapore search engines will just ignore a .com website.
The other main point is choosing the name, you must be very wise and choose a name that will be a very commonly searched for by locals. something like
www.petservices.com.sg or
www.petsitting.com.sg the most common words will be searched for pet services, and not for example
www.yourname.com.sg because that is a million to one chance of guessing....
when i chose mine for example i chose drinkingvinegar, because it was obvious that people would search for drinking vinegar, or fruit vinegar, either way vinegar gets picked up and I'm always in the top 10.
Your keywords are very important, not too many, and also the website description, you place in the html code, to get noticed.

Those two website names are not good choices, because clients will never search for dogbestfriend, when he is looking for dog services. so why not call it
www.dogservices.com.sg or petservices, or dogandcatservices.com.sg
what words would you search for? Think about it! Check out the most searched words for the service you are offering and link them together, the first two, most used words. That way you will get top ranking.
