Good Books to Recommend

Post by grumpybusdriver » Fri, 13 Mar 2009 10:16 am

Hi guys, what are some of the good books that you have read on investing or trading?

I have completed reading the book, Rich Dad's Guide to Investing by kiyosaki and found it to be quite enriching and interesting.

The only book I have ever been interested in, isn't finished yet! Although my building society gave me one, which was free on investment, it was very basic, and interesting because it was my first dabble. I have never looked back, my only regret has been, that i never started investing early enough.

My first two investments went bankrupt, because i took a gamble and lost!
Gambling isn't the same as investment, that i learnt quite rapidly.

Some of my favourite books on the subject of investing are
1) The New Buffettology
2) Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits

These books are more on long term stocks investments, using fundamental analysis.

If you are into trading , you might be better off with a book on technical analysis, which is about chart reading etc. I have never actually went out to look for a good book on technical analysis, as there are so many different trading systems, and of course, none of them were ever written with SGX in mind.
