Honey and Skincare Recipes

Post by orientalgirl » Thu, 19 Mar 2009 3:50 pm

Just to share. Previously I was on a trip to Japan and my skin was breaking out.

I was desperate and decide to buy honey, which can be applied on the face or eaten. I think i bought at Takashimaya Tokyo on the basement. But in the end, the result was worst than I thought and I have a lot of impurities clogged into my face.

I think if you have generally not so problem skin, then it may be safe, but if you have combination problem skin that are not stable, my advise is to be careful in applying some products.

Honey should not be used for oily skin, as it just adds more moisture to the skin and also forms a layer on the skin ( because of beeswax ).

This layer is actually good for dry and mature skin, as dry/mature skin require moisture. They also need to retain moisture - so this layer works as a barrier.

Honey is awesome in masks for normal or dry skin. Its awwesome in scrubs for normal to dry skin.

For combination or oily skin u shd try rose based scrubs and masks. Use cleanser to clean and toner to wipe off and kill germs.
Live life today, right now! Have fun!
