Might be kinda late to reply you on this, but I'll just give it a shot.
Layang Layang is popular for its hammerhead sharks that are often spotted in various dive sites around the island, especially at Navigator's Lane. Eagle Rays, Leopard Sharks and Pygmy Seahorse can also be sighted at this place.
Going there from Singapore is relatively easy. Just take an Air Asia flight over to Kota Kinabalu, stay for a night and board the plan to Layang Layang early next morning. But do take note of the flight timings to Layang Layang. It flies only on certain days.
This place is more recommended for divers of advanced and above. Open water divers won't get to enjoy much here.
