Fashion Jobs

Post by chloegemma » Mon, 02 Mar 2009 8:43 pm

Hi

I have recently moved to Singapore from the UK where I worked in the fashion industry. I am very keen to continue my career here.

I am looking for jobs in design, product development or production. So far it has been very difficult to find any contacts within the industry, or recruitment agents who work in this field.

If anyone knows of anything, or has any thoughts or tips it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for your help
Chloe

You picked the wrong country for the fashion industry. The few fashion designer that Singapore has produced had to move to the UK or US in order to do something. Unfortunately, fashion here seems to be ripping copies of whatever they see on MTV.

If that isn't enough, there is no textile industry here nor too many factories as they cannot use child labour here like they do in most other places around Asia. You will need a lot of luck here.

Hi Chloe, I would be glad to help, as I'm in the industry and there's a dearth of good talent. Give me a PM.

Hi

Thanks for the response! I'm very keen on getting in contact but it seems that I haven't posted enough on the forum to be able to send you a pm.

If you know a way around this definitely let me know. Otherwise I might see if I can think of a way.

I look forward to hearing from you

Thanks
Chloe

Easy, just make 5 posts and your PM send function with activate (spam control). But please don't do like some of our more literate types do and post messages that say "bump" or "Testing" or some other banal one-liner as we will just delete them.

You only need one more posts anyway.
