Expat with 7 yrs experience

Postby guell » Sun, 01 Mar 2009 8:55 pm

Dear all,

The salary you are talking is the gloss salary (including the bonus) or just the net income?

What will the average salary (gloss salary) for a biotechnologist with master degree and has 7 yrs experience in a expert field?

Thanks.

What is gloss income?

In case you are referring to Gross Income in normally means your monthly wages before any deductions. If you are referring to annual income it normally includes all fixed bonuses as well but not any variable bonuses.

Average salary? Not enough data from your side. Where are "you" from (not where is your degree from)?

@guell

I would be interested in this too as your qual and yrs experience matches mine, also in biology/biotechnology.

Just a guess but I would say the salaries are before tax, and from what little I understand, science isn't really the sort of field that pays bonuses (unfortunately). At least not in HK where I'm also looking.

But I could be wrong...

I must say I haven't been all that impressed with salary ranges in I've seen so far in bio science. But, hey, we can only try :wink:
