Hi there,
I would appreciate some advice on this this.
There is a good chance that I may be moving to Singapore on secondment for 2 years from Scotland with an option of extending to 6 years.
I am trying to do some research on the possibility of my partner coming out with me. We are not married, she currently works as a qualified Child Carer/ Nursery Nurse and has been doing so for the last 15 years or so. I've read many topics regarding the issue of work passes & LTSVP's and I think it may be a problem for my partner to get a job in her profession in Singapore and also due to her coming from a European country.
Is this true ?. Is it worth taking a gamble and bringing her out with me with the possibility of her staying longer than the 3 months (I think) as stated on government websites and finding work in her career ?.
I'm somewhat confused on this and would welcome advice.
Thank you

It can be done with lots of jumping through hoops, but the easiest way is to just get married and make an honest woman out of her!
It is doubtful that she will find work though, unless she has the qualifications to qualify for an employment pass in her own right.

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I think it may be rather difficult to bring her across.
Your suggestion is aslo being considered.
Many Thanks

Hi there,
I'm very grateful for the information and advice given to me by the user 'Blondi' sent by private message.
Thankyou very much and I shall look into it.
Unfortunaltely, I cant send 'Blondi' a PM back as I have been advised that I haven't enough posts in the forum yet to send a PM.
So, on that note
'Blondi' - when you & your partner received your LTSVP, how lond did that entitle you both to stay in the country. I'm just a little confused about all this stuff as I've read differing stories/timescales.
I would be obliged if someone out there could pass on this message & my thanks to user 'Blondi'.
Cheers

A question for your insurance company I guess. As a matter of interest, your STVP does have your FIN on it, so perhaps the FIN is still active?
