USA DVDs To Play In Singapore?

Post by dadelaw » Sun, 22 Feb 2009 8:55 pm

We are relocating from the US to Singapore in May. We have lots of DVDs that we will want to use in Singapore. What's the best way of achieving this, given that US-based DVDs will not work on the Singapore system? If we bring our (110V) US DVD player, will it work on a Singapore TV? What do you guys suggest?

The DVD's will work just fine. All you need is a multi region DVD player. Lots of the smaller shops will rechip the player to play all regions. I bought one at a shop in the Arcade? shopping center, next to Change Alley. Nice folks.

Just to add to what Strong Eagle said - Most DVD players that you buy in Singapore are already multi-region (they have had the chips changed) It's not worth the hassle of bringing your own 110v player and using a transformer, just buy a new one when you get here and ask the question - Is it multi-Region.
