Good podiatrist please

Post by ozchick » Sun, 22 Feb 2009 11:21 am

Can anyone recommend a good podiatrist in Sg? Preferably from someone who has this problem. Got fallen arches (Plantar Fasciitis) again.
Appreciate your help.

Mm...I've had it all before and I'm supposed to do exercises for my feet (which recovered last time in Oz after 2 yrs of regular appointments for manipulation etc.) I wear orthotics in my running shoes. I'm not supposed to ever wear heels but I've been naughty and doing that ...sigh and now I'm in trouble again. Pain? Yeah sort of- feel like I'm walking on rocks. I don't need diagnosis. I know what it is. I need a podiatrist who can get results for this condition. Knowing that I've caused this myself is a real pain in the feet!

dear all,
if you all ahve feet problems, it's better to get it treated soon.
i recommend that you all go to a polyclinic to get a referral to be referred to either tan tock seng hospital to see a podiatrist as a subsidized patient, or you can go for private consultations like mount elizabeth hospital...
our singapore foot care centre has good podiatrist as well :)

I have/had PF on both feet.

I went to SSMC at Novena (DR Jason) for a diagnosis - Ultrasound to check/ confirm the problem and determine where exactly on the plantar it was.

They then organised an appointment at the Changi Sports Medicine centre of Extra-Corporeal Shock wave therapy on both feet. It was interesting to say the least. Not too painful but definitely weird.

This was about a month ago. One foot has totally cleared up and is fine. The other isn't so good and im due back in a week or so for a follow up appointment.

Never heard of this treatment for PF! Good to know. I have seen a podiatrist since I posted here.....and he directed me to great shoe shop- talk about relief! Whoo! So this as well as regular exercises I'll try but gonna keep your info too so thanks!

Mm...could be....mine started there but when I wear heels I feel real bad bruise feeling under the ball of the foot and along the sides....mm...you may have a heel spur (similar symptoms). What you describe on standing after sitting is VERY symptomatic of heel spurs and Plantar Fasciitis. The guy I saw in Orchard Rd reckons I have Mortons Neuroma? Sigh...that's not what my guy back in Oz said......anyway....
DO NOT WEAR HEELS EVER! If you do already, stop now- and good luck!
