Hi,
Are EP holders allowed to do freelance or contract work while they are working for their main employer?
If not is there any way to bypass this condition?
thanks!

You are in deep doo doo in several ways if you do this.

a) You violate the terms of your EP. Grounds for expulsion.
b) You cannot report the income and pay tax on it, otherwise they know you are violating a) above. Therefore, you are also guilty of income tax evasion.
c) Whomever hires you is in violation of the law unless you put yourself out as a legal (read citizen, PR, or Entrepass holder) contractor, in which case you are also guilty of fraud.

DOo Doo trouble or not..Many are accepting the jobs and applying PR for the sake of just getting the identification before applying for other 'better' jobs.

But on this site we refrain from encouraging or even alluding to the possibility that this type of behavior is condoned here. I hope you will keep that in mind in the future. We are here to help posters, not encourage or promote illegal activities by them.
