Stroller advice in Singapore? Looking for Chicco

Post by robin_lilac » Fri, 06 Feb 2009 4:52 pm

Just moved here (no car), looking for lightweight stroller that is easy to fold and take on MRT/bus with 5 month old baby. I like Chicco 5/6 Capri, but can't seem to find them here. Need one for semi-tall person: 170 cm. Any advice on reasonably priced strollers much appreciated (brands available, where to find them, what works best, etc)!

For 6 month old baby still better the stroller that would recline closer to horizontal position. My advice: If you don't have any stroller and it's ok for you to have different strollers and not save much money, than buy Maclaren Techno. It is still not too heavy and if your baby suddenly falls asleep which they do very often, you can always make him sleep comfortably while going shopping or something else. As he grows older, from 18 months best I would recommend Maclaren Triumph (as a second stroller) or Maclaren Quest as a full substitute for Maclaren Techno. Because it is much lighter, smaller, easier to handle and still reclines enough for sleep. Why I don't recommend Volo or Triumph as a main stroller for babies up to 18 month: Volo cannot recline and if ur baby falls asleep his\her head wouldn't be resting (imagine yourself sleeping in an upright chair), Triuph doesn't have extention for legs as well as Volo but can recline a bit. I found that both Triumph and Volo leave unpleasant red stripes on baby's skin after sitting. In Quest there is leg extention and baby's knees wouldn't be 90 degrees hang about which is more comfy. They sit comfortably streching legs and can take a nap if they need.

If you have a stroller or pram already and want to save money, then wait a few months more, maybe to 8 months at least, and opt for Maclaren Quest.

Good luck! Hope I helped!

Don't know the situation now, but I bought my Chicco strollers at Robertsons. But that was 12-15 years ago.
