Reliable Part-Time Maid

Post by bebe2004 » Thu, 05 Feb 2009 4:40 pm

Hi People,

I had got a maid from A-Team Amahs and was good for the first 2 months, but lately she is always late and no show sometimes.

I had to do the cleaning myself ...... :(

Called the agency on the day when the maid no show to request for another maid and they just push away by saying that there are not aware of wats happening and is not able to send me another maid and was told to wait for another week and see how.

I give up .... pls .. anyone with a maid to recommend ?

I won't recommend as The Mod with The Link will tell you to refer to the others available. I have used a few local agencies (Sparkles to small household names.) and this is my 5cents

My experience with Sparkles is the cleaner/s are picked up (possibly from the agency) and sent to your home. If she is not available, they will immediately have a replacement.

The others (not sure if A-Mah fits into this) will send you a cleaner and then not have anything to do with you or the cleaner.2 companies I called to give feedback told me to speak to the cleaning lady directly. They were only available when I asked to change one cleaner (she was DREADFUL!)

You should call the agency to have this cleaner replaced IMMEDIATELY and specify that you are not paying any fees (if it's to agency directly).

Good Luck!

Hi,

We apologised for any inconvenience caused. We definitely value all customers' feedback. If the maid is occasionally absent for urgent matters (eg sick), we would advise our clients to give her another chance. However, if there is frequent absentism or lateness with no valid reasons, we would advise our clients to replace her. However, pls allow a minimum of 3 working days for us to find a suitable replacement.

We would like to assist you asap. Pls email us at enquiry@a-team.com.sg and we will contact you asap.

Thank you.

I would expect the maid service to bear the consequences of a maid not showing up, being unreliable or sick; not the customer!

To the original poster, thanks for bringing this issue up for those currently looking for a maid service. I for one will make sure to choose a service that doesn't make me suffer when their employee doesn't show up or are otherwise unsatisfactory.

Remember that part-time maids are very badly paid for hard work, yet the experienced and competent ones are in demand. Paying a little more than the standard S$10/hour and/or giving a nice little bonus on Xmas/CNY tends to magically increase reliability and level of service provided...

Oh, how much does she charge per hour?

I need her to do the following tasks Mon-Fri.
Midday - the dog in the near by neighbourhood for 20mins and return to the house do the vaccuum/mopping.

Evening 8pm or 9pm. Wash Dishes, Clean stovetop/rangehood, take out rubbish. Mop floor again and lastly to wash and rinse the mop !!

Sorry for late reply. What i noe is usually part time maid only do cleaning & washing etc..in é house but not to be taking care of your dog.

My part time maid charge per hourly is around S$10 and it all depends. As for me is S$50 a day and not by hour. She can go home anytime after all the job have done.

Lore, I tried to PM you but could not due to not enough posts submitted.

I would like to know more about your maid. I am looking for a maid to work 2 times a week for 3-4 hours a day. You said that she works for you the whole day for SGD 50? I can give the same too and give her some ironing to do in addition.

Can you PM me your details. Thanks.

Do not advertise here. It's the first and last warning.
