This is a cracker

Postby bigfilsing » Thu, 05 Feb 2009 2:54 am

Just read online that a Singapore nominated MP has said that a 5 day work week, apparently imposed in 2004, has not resulted in more babies :???: So we should go back to a 6 day week.
Where do they find these people?? Thats on par with saying that banning smoking has not resulted in ending lung cancer so we may as well all smoke again ( well almost)
1/ How many babies did they think would be made during normal working hours anyway.or weren't being made on saturdays because people were at work
2/ Is the theory that most Singaporeans ( not being racist here but the issue targets the Singaporean population or lack of it as the case may be) need to go out and get hammered on a friday night in order to procreate without worrying about getting up for work in the morning.

I'm not quite speechless ( pity eh) but it's close

If the numbers I see out getting hammered on Friday & Saturday nights is any indication, then they wouldn't change their procreation habit even if they didn't work at all. The problem here is they are to self absorbed in themselves only. The only reason for a lot of marriages here is to start their investment program (buying an HDB flat) before they are 35 (the age when singles are allowed to buy only a 3 room HDB Flat, and only a resale flat at that, and not in what is called a mature estate). That and the fact that a lot of males are afflicted with one of the highest rates of ED in the world which is similar to the myopia problem here (also one of the highest in the world). Think they are related? (let's face it, some of them are pretty short sighted - not even counting their vision).

Boy do I have a wild hair this morning! Come on flamers!

could just be that kids are expensive and they don't feel they can afford to both support their elderly parents and have kids. That's a lot of mouths to feed, especially if both sides are only children and have to take on the burden of their parents on their own.

Maybe they just don't want to pass their myopia and ED on to another generation. lol...

I hear you but surely the first reason is compensated by the knowledge that their own kids will take care of them one day...Family values and all that.

And while SMS is out attracting flames ( what are the national pyromania figures for Singapore...tell me they are top ....Pleeeease) i might as well join in
To the list of myopia and ED can we add butch lesbianism or blesbians
Is it that (potential) parents are scared they might bring forth a blesbian or even worse a girl that prefers butch lesbians ( worse because it shows a definate personal interaction weakness in kinda wanting a guy but kinda not) Don't mind being flamed but i must state that i have absolutely nothing against homosexuals ...at all. my comments ( in this case) must be seen in the same light as "fat people ordering diet coke at Macy D's. Understandable but still kinda wierd/funny.

Cheers

Blesbians? How does one spot a blesbian? Should Singapore have a 6 day a week anti blesbian campaign to get the birth rate back up? If you spot one you get a free bottle of tiger beer (given the chemicals in that its no wonder the birthrate is down).
Poking, poking everywhere...

In other news, Pfizer reports softening sales figures for Viagra as older men realise support pillars don't necessarily increase value, aesthetics or tenancy. There are no plans to move into property development.
