Rowing in Singapore

Post by hydrophile » Sun, 20 Jan 2013 8:38 pm

Right chaps, response to the thread from Jul 2012 asking for details of rowing in Spore (sweep or sculling).

I managed to go for a paddle at EASTer rowing club and Westside rowing club last weekend. Contact raihan or razemin at:
[email protected] or 65 9653 2313
[email protected] or 65 9022 9234

A couple of really good guys. Unfortunately the equipment is not quite up to Western standards as they are in the process of turning the clubs around are repairing the boats. However, certainly good effort and they could do with all the support they can get as the club is just getting going now.

You can also try to contact the president of EASTer, Diana Smit. They also now have a facebook page.

Have fun, hope this helps. Please do give the rowing in Spore all the support you can. It really needs to build more momentum in order to really take off. Enjoy!

Hey! Just moved from the US where I rowed at my university. If anyone here is still interested in rowing and is looking for a pair or double partner, send me a PM. I'd be super down to try and get a fast boat going.

Hey, just moved to Singapore and used to row at competitive level in Europe. Looking for partners for rowing sessions on weekends (sweeping or sculling). Will try to pass by Easter rowing club which sounds to be the best alternative so far. Anyone interested to join me? wou can contact me at benjamin.murat (at) gmail (.) com

Me and grupka went to EASTer rowing club last sunday morning, took a double out. It was a good time. Apparently the time to go is early saturday and sunday morning to meet people to make bigger boats

We're going this Saturday, and getting there a little before 9, so we can launch at 9am. We're trying to find people to make a 4-. Come on down and join us!

Hi I am a student in the UK and will be returning this summer to Singapore. I am keen to continue rowing and am glad to see that there seems to be a keen rowing community :) Could someone let me know the details of where the clubs are and when you train

Best Wishes

Post by Melanie Bampton » Fri, 22 Aug 2014 4:54 pm

Hi All,

I've not rowed since 2002 and would really like to get back into it. Would anyone like to meet me for a row either tomorrow or Sunday morning or next weekend?

Thanks please get in contact.
